Christian Lane, solo organ recital

Christian Lane will be presenting a solo organ concert at the Groton Hill Music Center on Sunday, March 3 rd at 3 pm. He will be playing exciting works by Elgar (Imperial March and Nimrod), Cooman (Rhapsody), Pinkham (Wondrous Love: Five Variations for Organ), Ramsay (Concordia Salus: A Fantasy for Organ), Marchand (Grand Dialogue du Cinquieme Ton), Bach (Wachet auf, Liebster Jesu, Der Tag, In dir is freude), and Vierne (Berceuse, Scherzetto, Final from Symphonie I).
Winner of the 2011 Canadian International Organ Competition and founding director of Boston Organ Studio, Christian Lane is one of America’s most accomplished, respected, and versatile concert organists and pedagogues. Recently, Mr. Lane served on the faculty of McGill University in Montréal as Visiting Professor of Organ and Acting Chair of the Organ Area, and as Artist in Residence for the Canadian International Organ Competition. He currently serves as Interim Director of Music at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland, and is represented by Karen McFarlane Artists, Inc. This program features the organ building styles of Father Willis (English Cathedral), Skinner (American Romantic), Cavaille-Coll (French Romantic) and Wender (Bach’s organ at Arnstadt)! In addition, it features works by 3 American composers from Boston played on the Skinner which was built in Boston and all dedicated to Mr. Lane.
